Phillip Hammond serves as the Director of Finance and Grants Administration for the Fund for the School District of Philadelphia.

Previously, Phillip worked in the Grants Compliance and Fiscal Services department at The School District of Philadelphia. During that time he was exposed to nearly every facet of the grant management process including fiscal, programmatic, reporting, and relationship building. Phillip managed 18 schools in one of the most economically depressed areas of North Philadelphia while consulting on school budgeting and advising principals on budget development and administration.  He has extensive knowledge of the fiscal climate and all compliance factors at the school and central administrative office level and various financial systems.

Prior to his experience with the School District, Phillip directed the management and distribution of grant funds for The After-School Corporation in New York City and Philadelphia Safe and Sound. Both agencies were intermediaries that distributed grant funds to school-based, non-profit organizations providing quality after-school programming.

His twenty-year professional career with nonprofit organizations has been dedicated to serving underserved communities in Philadelphia, Columbus OH, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and New York.

Phillip is a graduate of Temple University, serves as the board Vice President for Multicultural Academy Charter School, and resides in Philadelphia with his three children who attend Philadelphia public and charter schools.
